Andrew Darlow (right) with three attendees from a semi-private printing and workflow/color management workshop. A selection of prints made by the participants are displayed on the table. SoLux lamps and bulbs with a range of color temperatures can be seen above the table. They are used during workshops to illuminate the prints and to show the visual differences one may encounter when displaying art in galleries, homes and other locations.

In this two hour one-on-one session, you will have two hours to work with Andrew Darlow or Jim Roselli on color management workflow, Lightroom techniques and fine-art printmaking.

Andrew Darlow will have a 17-inch-wide Epson Stylus Pro 3800 and Jim Roselli will be using a 44-inch-wide Epson Stylus Pro 9900 printer during the consultation. Choose Andrew Darlow's session to work with him and the Epson 3880, and Jim Roselli's session to work with him and the Epson 9900.

Either Photoshop CS5/CS6 and/or Adobe Lightroom 4 may be chosen by each participant to be used during the proofing, layout and printing process. Each attendee will also receive a printed handout as well as at least two prints of their work printed on the Epson 3880 or Epson 9900 printer.

You'll receive a printed handout with helpful information and links, and each attendee will select from a group of semi-gloss, fiber semi-gloss or matte/watercolor papers to use for his or her prints. Included with a two-hour consultation are the following print options:

1. Epson Stylus Photo 3880 w/ Andrew Darlow: up to three 8.5x11s and two 13x19 prints. (Approximate print value if you were Andrew or Jim's client: $225).

2. Epson Stylus Photo 9900 w/ Jim Roselli: up to two 8.5x11s and two 16x20 or 16x24 prints. (Approximate print value if you were Andrew or Jim's client: $250).

Additional prints can also be purchased if time permits for a reduced rate of .10 per square inch for the paper size (for example, a 12x18 print would be 216 square inches, and the price would be $21.60).

Fine Art Workshop

The equipment used for some of the training will include an Epson Stylus Pro 9900 (right), i1-iSis Spectrophotometer (center), Apple Mac Pro, 30" Apple Cinema Display, Wacom Cintiq and the X-Rite Judge II-S Viewing Booth, capable of simulating daylight, cool-white fluorescent, incandescent and UV.

An Apple Mac Pro and 30" Apple Cinema Display will be used for retouching and printing to the Epson Stylus Pro 9900, and a MacBook Pro with external 27-inch display will be used for consulting and printing to the Epson Stylus Pro 3800. You may also choose to connect your laptop to the Epson 3880 if you'd like to print directly from your computer.

Because these are private one-on-one sessions, all skill levels are welcome. Some experience using inkjet printers and Photoshop and/or Lightroom is suggested, but not required.
