This talk will focus on the human in placemaking, the human motivation to connect, to work together, and to make a positive difference. Dr Cara Courage and Dr Anita McKeown will draw on their combined 40-plus years of working with and researching arts in place to present the idea of placemaking – the human-centred and arts-led practice of working with communities at the front and centre of determining what their place looks like and how it functions – and will focus on the human interaction and outcomes of this practice.
