Event description

Description

This year we are celebrating six AWESOME years of positively impacting the lives of Baton Rouge youth.

Since the inception of the Youth Peace Olympics, over 300 youth have completed this innovative youth violence prevention curriculum. The Louisiana Center for Health Equity, along with the Together We Are More Adolescent Health Collaborative, has been promoting healthy living and curbing youth violence among youth in the South Burbank/Gardere area, and beyond. Through the Youth Peace Olympics, youth are equipped with tools and conduct that directly affects their decision-making skills and ultimately their future. We want to continue transforming communities’ one person at a time.

We rely on supporters like you to help transform communities by improving the lives of youth whose circumstances have often made them more susceptible to unhealthy environments and violence.

That’s why I am asking you to partner with us.

Our signature fundraiser, Light Up the Night for a Brighter Future will benefit the Youth Peace Olympics and youth violence prevention. This evening of great live entertainment featuring the LSU Gospel Choir, Teen Gospel Performing Artist Alana Buckley and Soloist Will Hayes of Kenner, a delicious dinner and wonderful networking kicks off our annual fundraiser which is slated to end next April, coinciding with the 2020 Opening Ceremony. All proceeds will be used to fund the 2020 program activities.

We are looking forward to a wonderful night of great company, a chance to meet the 2019 Champion, and the opportunity to help more of youth have healthier and more prosperous lives.

Can we count on you to help us promote healthy living and curb violence among youth?
