Imagine Swiping your credit card at a vending machine – but instead of buying a candy bar for yourself, you’re buying a beehive for a family in a developing country. Or a pair of socks. Or prenatal care. Or meals for local seniors in need.

That’s the Giving Machine. 100% of your donation goes to the charity of your choice.

The ABQ Giving Machine is a special vending machine at the Cottonwood Mall, Lower Level, near Dillards, from December 12 to January 1 that allows people to donate to local and global charities by purchasing items for those in need.

The machine is part of the global #LightTheWorld initiative and accepts debit/credit and mobile payments, with 100% of the donations going to the charities, as the operating costs are covered by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Local charities include: Barrett Foundation, Inc., Bethel Storehouse, Cuidando Los Ninos, Haven House and Saranam. Global Charities are CWS (Church World Service) and Days for Girls.
