Newcastle Castle’s monthly light painting and photography evening. Pre-booking is not essential; attendees can also pay on the door for £8 (strictly cash only).
Between 6 and 8.30pm, amateur and professional photographers are invited into the Keep – the Castle’s 12th century ‘great tower’ – for rare after-hours access.
Attendees are welcome to explore and take photographs at their leisure; although please beware that some spots, such as the rooftop and Chapel, can be extremely busy at times.
If you are new to light painting, a beginners’ workshop will take place in the Great Hall between 6.30 and 7.30pm.
Please bring yourselves, a camera, torch, tripod, shutter release and any lights you wish to use. The upper storeys of the Castle Keep, where this event takes place, are unfortunately inaccessible to wheelchair users.
Please note: Much of Newcastle Castle Keep, where this event takes place, is unfortunately inaccessible to wheelchair users. It is imperative that all attendees bring a torch, as areas of the Castle will be in complete darkness.
