This year, Light Night’s Lantern Parade is hosted by Handmade Parade from Hebden Bridge. They are offering some fantastic workshops which teach you to make and decorate your own lantern which you will then carry in the parade on the 6th of October.
All you need for the workshop is yourself and your creative flare! No previous experience needed.
Please wear clothes that you don’t mind doing crafts in.
We would like to encourage adults and children of all ages to come along and join in this activity, but please be aware any children must be accompanied by an adult so they can make the lantern together. Please note that the lantern making activity will be challenging for the under 7's .
During the parade you will be joined by some exciting art lanterns, stilt-walkers and fantastic bands, towards the end you will process down The Headrow with cyclists and runners decorated in lights to Victoria Gardens for the finale! The walk will last roughly an hour and snakes around the pedestrian zone in Leeds City Centre. You must be available on the 6th of October at 6:45pm to be ready to walk in the parade (come rain or shine) leaving the top of Briggate adjacent to The Headrow at 7:30pm.
Please reserve your space on here for everyone attending the session and will be participating.
We are also offering workshops at Pudsey Civic Hall if you cant make these ones! https://www.eventbrite.com/e/light-night-leeds-lantern-making-workshops-the-pudsey-civic-hall-tickets-27676094945
