A 60-minute virtual concert exploring African American composers and numerous musical genres.
Carl Lewis is a professional saxophonist with over 20 years of performance experience spanning many musical genres and three continents. He has been a staple in the Chicago, Atlanta, and Houston jazz scenes and has found his home in Central Florida. Carl Lewis is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist; watch for his uncanny Louis Armstrong impersonation.
This program is part of Lift Every Voice: 250 Years of African American Poetry, a national public humanities grant sponsored by of Library of America presented in partnership with The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture with generous support from The National Endowment for the Humanities, The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and Emerson Collective.
