About this event

Do you work with youth who display self-defeating patterns of behavior?

Life Space Crisis Intervention Certification Course provides structured theoretical and applied instruction in crisis intervention skills. It is applicable with at-risk students in public schools, residential and day treatment, special education, alternative schools, guidance and inclusion programs, and in mental health and juvenile justice programs.

More than 30 hours of advanced training across 27 specific competencies

Live and video based skills demonstrations and role plays

Comprehensive Participant Manual

Certificate of Competency

Six weekly follow up group coaching sessions

Successful completion leads to advanced LSCI Certification from the Life Space Crisis Intervention Institute. See www.lsci.org.

In addition, three semester hours of graduate credit and/or 30 CEUs for social workers from the Ohio Counselors, Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist Board are available for an additional cost.

Organizer Elaine Harper, PhD

Organizer of Life Space Crisis Intervention Certification Course

Dr. Harper is an experienced leader, intervention specialist and counselor in the education and mental health arenas, including as former educational services director for Positive Education Program in Cleveland, OH.

Her practice, Elaine Harper Consulting, serves by training, facilitating, coaching and mentoring leaders, teams, schools and organizations who work with children and adolescents presenting emotional and behavioral challenges. She is a certified senior trainer in Life Space Crisis Intervention (LSCI) and certified trainer in the Neurosequential Model for Education (NME).

She founded Trauma Sensitive Teaching Network which connects leaders, teachers, counselors, and others dedicated to serving children and adolescents through compassionate interactions and decision making.

Her doctorate degree is in urban education with specialization in learning and development from Cleveland State University. Doctoral research centered on social emotional learning and bibliotherapy.

Most of all Dr. Harper loves bringing out the best in people.
