About this Event

Life Skills Crash Course is a one-day event that prepares young women to live on their own for the first time by practicing real-life skills. This event is hosted by MissHeard Media, a media & live events company that empowers and inspires young women to be smart, savvy, and global.

Hey soon-to-be-grads!

I know. Graduation is on the horizon. You’re so excited and ready for the next stage in your life. New living situation, one where you call the shots. New classes. New challenges. New adventures. New friends. FREEDOM! It’s exhilarating.

Annnnd maybe deep down you’re a little bit nervous. Freedom means responsibilities. Bills. Taxes. Showing up on time. It means making decisions about who you want to be.

It’s completely, 100%, OK and normal to be nervous. This is a huge life change and I promise you, every single soon-to-be grad is sweating it a little bit too. Who is ever really ready for major life changes? It is *always* going to be a transition and an adjustment, but it doesn’t have to be *hard.*

Knowing some basic, adult hard and soft skills allows you to focus on the big stuff without getting bogged down in the small stuff. Having a strong base of skills will help you move through the transition from high school to college, a job, a gap year, or whatever comes next, much easier.

Hey parents & guardians!

I know that as a parent and caretaker, you have done everything in your power to prepare your daughter for “the real world.” But still, you can’t shake the little nagging feeling that you’re missing something. Do you worry that your daughter isn’t *quite* ready to move out? Do you fear that daily challenges will result in panicked calls?Of course you’re nervous!

It’s normal to be nervous; it’s a huge step in both of your lives! The truth is, your daughter is nervous too. It’s natural for parents and daughters to be nervous when it comes to moving out, but that doesn’t mean that your teen can’t be extra-prepared.

Are you ready to give your daughter a boost as she steps into the real world?

Sound familiar? That is where Life Skills Crash Course comes in!

Register for the one-day MissHeard Media retreat, January 25, 2020, 9:30a-3:30 pm at Joe’s Movement Emporium, that teaches college-bound teen girls to navigate living away from home for the first time by re-affirming and practicing what you’ve already taught them at home!

In this one-day retreat, she will learn life skills that will help her prepare for living away from home. After the event, she’ll feel more confident and prepared to handle whatever comes her way, on campus and off.
