Life in the Spirit Seminar Retreat
Fri, May 12, 2017, 7:00 PM – Sat, May 13, 2017, 9:00 PM PDT
A weekend retreat designed to acquaint participants with the person, the work, and the power of the Holy Spirit using scripture and personal testimony. The content is both scripturally balanced and Wesleyan in nature.
The weekend is designed to heighten awareness of the Spirit of God working in our personal lives and in the life of the church, to remove any barriers the participants might have to the Holy Spirit moving in their lives, and to create a greater openness to the fullness of the Holy Spirit. Participants discover the potential and the power of the Holy Spirit to lead, guide, and direct their lives into the fullness of Christ Jesus that God offers to every believer. Participants are encouraged and challenged to receive "the Promise of the Father" and to begin walking with Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit.
A Weekend Retreat
The Life In the Spirit Seminar San Francisco is a weekend retreat beginning Friday night at 6:45 PM and ending Saturday night at 9:00 PM.
The price for the seminar includes a seminar workbook, meals and overnight dormitory accomodations at the Waller Center in San Francisco (http://www.wallercenter.org/). The dorms provide safe, handicap accessible accomodations. Participants will be provided with either a cot or bunk bed for sleeping accomodations based on availability (participants to bring pillow and sleeping bag / bedding). Participants will also be provided with breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday.
What to Expect during the Seminar
During the Life in the Spirit Seminar, the grace of God, the love of Jesus Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit become active in the worship, the short teachings, and the contagious testimonies of faith that are shared by team members. Friday evening will begin with worship, teaching on praise, and a small group experience led by team members.
On Saturday morning, team members share on ten ministries of the Holy Spirit, (i.e., love, prayer, guidance). The afternoon teaching session centers around kingdom encounters in the book of Acts, as well as the gifts and fruit of the Spirit. On Saturday evening, the coordinators share personal testimonies regarding the work of the Holy Spirit in their lives. The evening closes with an opportunity for participants to be filled with the Spirit and to receive prayer and personal ministry from team members.
About Aldersgate Renewal Ministries
The mission of Aldersgate Renewal Ministries is to equip the local church to minister to the world in the power of the Holy Spirit. ARM serves the local church by providing dynamic learning experiences that educate participants to live in the power of the Holy Spirit.
In Matthew 28:18-20, and in 10:6-8, Jesus commanded us to "go." But Jesus also made it clear that the grace to proclaim and to demonstrate the Gospel to the ends of the earth comes from the power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8). The power of the Holy Spirit is essential to carry on the ministry of Jesus!
ARM seeks to build a long term mutual ministry relationship to help the church keep in step with the leading of the Holy Spirit. As the local church learns to walk in the Spirit, pray and worship in the Spirit, and share their faith empowered by the Spirit, the Great Commission is fulfilled in the character and power of Jesus Christ.
