The Life Cycle of Effective Volunteer Management

About this Event

For a busy nonprofit professional, effectively managing volunteers can seem daunting – even challenging – but with a little time and intention you can go from being solely reactive to highly effective at engaging volunteers. This daylong session will guide you through the critical components of setting a volunteer program up for success. Participants will have an opportunity to explore:

  • The life cycle of effective volunteer management
  • Developing great volunteer position descriptions
  • Recruiting fantastic volunteers
  • Strategic volunteer matching
  • Volunteer orientation and training
  • Building your supervisory skills
  • Recognizing your volunteers
  • Evaluation techniques
  • And resources for future development

This workshop is delivered in partnership with United Way of King county, and with support from Volunteer Generation Fund. This session is designed to meet the needs of volunteer managers with less than two years of experience in the field or those looking to refresh their understanding of the basics.
