Event description
Are you a CASA with a youth ready to age out or are you interested in learning more about how to support the process for the future?

About this Event

Join VOICES and ASU's Bridging Success Program Coordinator, Justine Cheung, MSW, and fellow CASA volunteer, Roger Lurie, in exploring challenges faced by youth as they age out of the foster care system. Research continues to show the correlation between lack of education and gang involvement, homelessness, and being incarcerated and sadly, approximately only 3% of foster care youth go on to receive a four-year degree. This training is a unique experience for attendees as it will allow time for the presenters to share resources available to support CASAs with their cases and to brainstorm on what additional services and efforts should be made that CASAs, as citizens, can collectively lobby for with our State Legislature. Bring your questions for all-things related to aging-out youth!

*Note: this training was previously held at VOICES on November 2, 2019
