Creative Mind, Open Heart.
Song writing, and Embodied Voice
Using song writing to engage and foster embodied experience.
Performers, Therapists, Artists & Professionals with an interest in mind /body, creativity and voice won’t want to miss this opportunity to spend a weekend with Licia, in a comfortable studio courtyard setting in Central Auckland.
An integral part of agency and actualization in healing is finding voice—the tenuous process of noticing your feelings, discovering deep thoughts, learning to trust your perspectives, and then exploring expression, being heard, being seen, counting yourself in, and engaging with others.
We will use object oriented free-writing as a method to dive under the surface of our daily thoughts and explore our inner relationship to the mundane environment-- the hidden in-plain-sight stimuli that affect our moods, feelings of wellbeing, safety.
We unpack the free-writing through meditation, theatre exercises, rhythmic play, toning, and movement, to find our way to voice, meaning, melody and song.
Bring your speaking voice and your curiosity.
Musical instruments optional.
Paper and pens or pencils for writing.
This is a seperate two day event, and accomodation is not provided.
Morning tea and afternoon tea will be provided but lunch is B.Y.O. You're welcome to eat here in the courtyard or can travel to one of several nearby cafés only minutes away.
