Ambassador Susan Rice will deliver the next Governor Frank Licht ’38 Lecture and sign copies of her new book, Tough Love: My Story of the Things Worth Fighting For, on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at 5:30 PM in Salomon Center for Teaching, Ce Ciccio Family Auditorium.

Doors open at 5 PM.

Talk begins at 5:30 PM.

Book Signing from 7 PM - 7:30 PM.

Tickets are required. Brown or government-issued photo ID is required. Backpacks and large bags are not permitted.

What is The Governor Frank Licht '38 Lecture?

The Governor Frank Licht ’38 Lecture was established in 1987 by friends and family in memory of Rhode Island Governor Frank Licht, a 1938 Brown graduate. Past speakers include then-Senator Barack Obama, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, and Congressman Adam Schiff.


May I have more information about the book signing?

Ambassador Rice's book, Tough Love: My Story of the Things Worth Fighting For, will be available from 7 PM-7:30 PM. Ambassador Rice will be available to sign books during that time. The book signing will take place in the Salomon Upper Lobby.


What will I need to bring with me to access the event?

Printed ticket or mobile ticket with the barcode.

Brown or government-issued ID.


Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Yes, or a mobile ticket only is satisfactory.


What are the security requirements?

A ticket is required.
