Description

Research into an 86-year-old family murder (Henrietta Schmerler and the Murder That Put Anthropology on Trial, by faculty member Gil Schmerler) raises questions of fieldwork technique, cultural difference, and sexual assault. Join us for a panel discussion of the the book and its implications.

Moderated by Rima Shore. Panelists include Rena Rice, Frank Pignatelli, and Alisa Algava. Skyping in from China will be Megan Steffen, anthropologist from Tsinghua University.
