Liberation Starts with Education: Leadership in Diversity 2017 Conference
Sat, March 25, 2017, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM EDT
Leadership in Diversity is hosting its second annual Multicultural Education & Culturally Responsive Teaching conference. Our theme this year, “Liberation Starts with Education” speaks to the idea that knowledge and critical thinking are key elements when working towards equity for all.
This is a conference for professionals in the education field, current students in teacher preparation programs, and those interested in the field of education. Attendees will have the opportunity to attend breakout sessions on a variety of topics related to multicultural education and culturally responsive teaching. The conference will close with remarks from highly acclaimed educator and author, Dr. Christopher Emdin!
There is no cost to attend although donations are appreciated. They allow us to continue to host and attend professional development opportunities free of cost to students and coordinate our annual conference.
Parking: The conference will be held at the University of Connecticut – Storrs Campus in Storrs, CT in the Laurel Hall building, 1st floor. Parking will be available for free across campus due to weekend hours (please adhere to signs) or at North and South Garage for a fee. Laurel Hall is located next to the Student Union on Fairfield Way off of Hillside Rd.
