LGBTQIA+ Topics in Adult Education Series Session 1: Queer Representation in Adult Education Spaces

Series Overview: For adult education instructors and staff who are striving for more inclusive classrooms, this workshop series will offer participants tools to reflect, connect, and act! The first session covers foundational knowledge of best practices and self-awareness, while the second session goes more deeply into the nuts and bolts of implementing LGBTQIA+-affirming lessons and curriculum. With facilitators who are actively working to Queer their own adult-education classes, the series will be rich in teacher-tested strategies for serving all of your students’ learning.

Session 1 Description: In this session, adult education professionals in the LGBTQIA+ community will invite participants to reflect on and discuss topics of gender and sexuality in adult education classrooms, materials, and professional settings.
