Join us at the Brooklyn Community Pride Center for our LGBTQ Writing Program 1st, 2nd and 3rd Wednesdays from 6pm - 7pm!
 
*Writing workshops are offered are open to ages 14 and up.   

Raise Your Voice! (with nationally-acclaimed spoken word poets Elliott D. Smith and Joanna Hoffman)
A writing and performance workshop hosted every first Wednesday of the month.
Next workshop date: Wednesday, September 4
 
Creative Writers!  (with performance poet and published author, Aimee Herman)  
Create poems, stories and hybrid prose through various prompts and exercises in this workshop hosted every second Wednesday of the month.
Next workshop date: Wednesday, September 11
 
Write for Your Future! (with college writing instructor and learning support specialist, Sophia Mavrogiannis) 
Hone your writing skills, jazz up your resume or write a memorable college entrance essay in this workshop hosted every third Wednesday of the month.

The mission of the Brooklyn Community Pride Center is to provide a safe, common space offering physical and mental health services, social support, recreational and cultural programming, as well as being a hub of information for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals and families in Brooklyn.

Through promotion of the empowerment, development, and general welfare of the LGBTQ community with emphasis on gender, racial, and ethnic parity, we are committed to affecting positive change within our Borough, and the community at large.
