Learn from mental health professionals in the Bay Area about LGBTQ+ mental health!

<h2>NAMI San Francisco presents the 2023 LGBTQ+ Roundtable!</h2><h3>J﻿une is LGBTQ+ Pride Month! </h3><h3>On June 29, mental health professionals in the Bay Area with discuss a range of topics related to LGBTQ+ mental health. </h3><h3>This event is for members of the LGBTQ+ community and those committed to supporting LGBTQ+ mental health, taking active steps toward addressing stigma and barriers to care, identifying community resources, and talking constructively about LGBTQ+ mental health.</h3><h3></h3><h3>Hear from mental health experts who specialize in working with members of the LGBTQ+ community:</h3><h3><strong>Dr. Jack Turban</strong>, <strong>MD MHS,</strong> is an Assistant Professor of Child &amp; Adolescent Psychiatry at The University of California San Francisco. His research has been cited in major court cases regarding the civil rights of transgender people in the U.S. and Dr. Turban is regularly consulted by the media to comment on issues regarding LGBTQ health. He and his work have been quoted over 100 times for outlets including NPR’s All Things Considered, The New York Times, and Rolling Stone.</h3><h3><strong>B﻿o Hwang</strong>, is a positive care coordinator at a community clinic that serves transgender people and cisgender women. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in gender studies and Asian American Studies. He has spoken at 100+ conferences and community events educating and empowering people on LGBTQ+ communities, immigrant, substance use, and mental health topics. </h3><h3><strong>Dr. Chase T. M. Anderson, MD</strong>, is an Assistant Professor in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of California at San Francisco. He graduated from adult psychiatry residency at The Massachusetts General Hospital and McLean Hospital and the child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at UCSF.  His writing has appeared in Newsweek, The New England Journal of Medicine, and other news and journal outlets. </h3><h3><strong>D﻿enisse Mendéz</strong>, is the Youth Mental Health Manager at the San Francisco LGBT Community Center. Denisse specializes in working with gender expansive transitional age youth and youth of color.
