APL’s Allies in the Workplace group and the Asymmetric Operation Sector’s Diversity Resource Team are sponsoring a panel discussion about LGBTQ+ representation and intersectionality in STEM and defense, on Wednesday, July 22, from 12-1 p.m. The entire APL community, as well as STEM students and professionals outside of APL, are invited to join this event.
Panelists from diverse backgrounds across race, gender identity, socioeconomic status and formal education who are working in academia, industry and defense will discuss how they have navigated challenges and leveraged resources to advance their STEM education and careers. Discussion topics will include systemic barriers, how to create more inclusive workplaces, and addressing microaggressions.
