LGBTQ+ Catholic Youth Summit
Event Information
Description
Join the LGBTQ+ and Allied Catholic Student Coalition for a day full of conversation, learning, and action to improve the climate for LGBTQ+ individuals in Catholic environments, and the lives of LGBTQ+ Catholics in LGBTQ+ ones! Creating safe spaces for LGBTQ+ people of faith is the main goal of this event, and is fundamental to the work of the LGBTQ+ and Allied Catholic Student Coaliton. As such, we expect all participants to respect the identities of everyone present, and work to create the safest environment possible.
We will begin the day with mass, followed by a keynote speech from Kristen Ostendorf (a former teacher at Totino Grace Catholic High School, and is now an English teacher at Highland Park Senior High in St. Paul), lunch, and a series of workshops. Bring your friends, family, clergy, students, teachers, and an open mind.
The event is sponsored by the LGBTQ+ and Allied Student Coalition, OutFront MN, and the Justice Office of the Sister's of St. Joseph of Carondelet.
TICKETS: There are two options for tickets: $10 General Admissions tickets for adults and students, and free tickets for adults and students. The event cannot unfortunately be put on for free, so we are asking those who are able to make the helpful donation of $10 for the time spent and knowledge gained. However, if this presents a burden for you, the free ticket is another option.
