"Mercer Trainings is an NBCC-Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEPTM and may offer NBCC-approved clock hours for events that meet NBCC requirements. The ACEP solely is responsible for all aspects of the program.

This workshop is for mental health providers providing counseling to individuals from LGBT community. Learning objectives for the training are as below:

Creating a safe and welcoming environment Understanding appropriate terminology Understanding the soical and other determinants of health Learning how to inquire of sexual health as part of counseling. Understanding the prevalence of substance use in LGBT population. Do's and Don't's of helping with the challenges in coming out process. Working appropriately with the concepts of sex, gender, sexual orientation, Gender Identity.

Case scenarios and small group learning model will be utilized based on the number of attendees.
