Welcome to the Leveraging Tech and Data in Theater, Workshop Series, hosted by The Artist Co-Op.


Leveraging Tech and Data in Theater: AUTOMATING COMMUNICATION

Communicating with important people is a central part of being artist and professional. Automating this important task can reduce errors, increase results, and lower stress!




This workshop will include:

  • Finding email addresses of important people.
  • Scheduling and styling personalized mass email with mail merge.
  • Automatically follow up.
  • Best practices for reaching out to important people.
  • Organizing your contacts.
  • Mass emails with mailchimp.
  • Intro to CRM.

Event schedule:

6:00PM – 6:20PM Check in
6:20PM – 6:40PM Introduction
6:40PM– 7:40PM workshop (part 1)
7:40PM – 7:50PM break
7:50PM – 8:50PM workshop (part 2)
8:50PM – 9:30PM networking


Miscellaneous Details:

  • Run time of workshop is 2 hours with a 10 minute break.
  • All attendees are required to bring a laptop.
  • Registration is extremely limited. We will be holding a waitlist for up to 5 people, in the event a registered participant cancels or doesn't show up.




What is this series about?

This workshop series is an educational hands-on forum in which various technologies and analytical resources will be introduced, in context of the business of theater. Free to attend, these workshops are aimed at providing tools to theater professionals which will enable them to get ahead, have their work reach more people, and be financially feasible.

What are these workshops like?

Our lecture styled workshops are centered around the philosophy that the best way to learn is to do. We therefore engage in a very hands-on approach, often implementing the content being introduced immediately.

Of note, attendees are required to bring a laptop (iPads not accepted). This is because we want our workshops to be as meaningful for our attendees as possible and we feel that this cannot be done without the processing power and browser readability of a laptop computer.

Who are these events for?

Our events are intended for theater professionals, exclusively. We do not expect any formal education in marketing, design, or statistics. We do however expect that attendees are computer literate and can operate excel with some proficiency.




Our Long Term Plan:

We plan on adding additional workshops to the series, perhaps with more space. Workshops will always be free. Those interested in attending would submit a cover letter indicating so. After reviewal, those determined eligible for attending will be provided a unique registration code.
