Join us to learn and apply best practices for engaging in meaningful and productive coaching and mentoring!

About this event

The pandemic experience has challenged our approaches to teaching, learning, and coaching. As schools emerge from crisis management and move toward a new landscape, coaching and mentoring remain essential in supporting teachers and leaders. This 5-session series is for anyone involved in coaching and mentoring who wishes to leverage learning from the past year as well as build foundational tools and techniques to best equip teachers in their professional growth.

Join us to learn and apply best practices for engaging in meaningful and productive coaching and mentoring. Through small group discussion, individual reflection, scenario analysis, and role play, attendees will learn to better navigate the current reality and develop skills that increase impact both online and in person. Participants will be able to apply their learning between sessions and use the group as thought partners throughout the school year. Resources for novice and experienced coaches will be shared.

Learning outcomes:

  • Establish a shared language of coaching frameworks and concepts to foster a collaborative working community
  • Develop a tool box of practical strategies for engaging in coaching conversations
  • Reflect on and leverage new coaching techniques learned from this unique year
  • Identify and reflect on the ways in which different roles and power dynamics affect our coaching relationships and practices (supervisor, peer to peer, non-supervisory administrator)
  • Explore your own coaching identity and stance as well as develop and practice techniques for professional self-care
  • Apply strategies to one’s own current coaching challenges and receive feedback from fellow participants
  • Build ongoing connections with other educators involved in coaching and mentoring


Session 1: September 28 from 9am-2pm

Session 2: October 14 from 9am-2pm

Session 3: November 18 from 9am-2pm

Session 4: February 1 from 9am-2pm

Session 5: March 17 from 9am-2pm


This workshop series will be held online via Zoom and may be recorded for CATDC's archives. By registering for this event you are consenting to be recorded and photographed by CATDC.


For our Virtual Ongoing Programs, refunds are available up to 14 days before the first session. Please contact us directly or make the request within Eventbrite.

Registration may be transferred to a different person up to 7 days before the first session. However refunds will not be given, and a session missed for any reason will not be refunded.

Please contact us by email as soon as you know you cannot attend a workshop and cannot transfer registration. This will allow us time to contact our waitlist and hopefully fill your spot.
