Description

The L.E.A.R.N Confereferene (Leveraging Emotional Wellness And Resiliency Networks). Created by The North Central Behavioral Health Working Group

Pennsylvania State Representative W. Curtis Thomas and the L.E.A.R.N. Conference Planning Committee invite youth service providers, educators, parents and concerned community members to participate in the first annual Leveraging Emotional Wellness and Resiliency Network (L.E.A.R.N.) Conference on Wednesday and Thursday, August 30th and 31st. This important gathering will be held at the Temple University Gettis Student Center, 1755 North 13th Street, Philadelphia, from 8:30a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Featured will be inspiring, evidence-based plenary sessions and solution-focused workshops on the impact of trauma on our youth and the reduction of violence in our communities. This is a free event; however, advance registration is recoomended. For more information and registration, please visit our website at http://thelearnconference.com or Eventbrite page at https://learnconference2017.eventbrite.com

Our goals and the potential outcomes that we hope to seek from the conference are the following:

  • To ensure we are receptive to educators voices and will use the information gathered to inform our next steps moving forward after the conference

  • To bring awareness and to provide services around a specific need of the community or learning/educational spaces

  • To assess what supports schools are receiving and barriers/challenges associated with those supports
