Event description

Description

Most product leaders and managers don't have the luxury of starting from scratch. Rather, they're responsible for improving and growing legacy products with existing customers, rigid stakeholders, and technical debt. How do you optimize decision-making in these less-than-ideal environments?

There is no silver bullet, but the answer begins with empathy and understanding. For the culture, for the various concerns and perspectives, for what's worked in the past. Then find creative ways to push the boundaries, iterate, and leave a meaningful mark.

Join us for an evening of thoughtful discussion with products leaders who have made tremendous impacts at every organization they've joined. The event is being generously hosted by Silicon Valley Bank.

The panel will be moderated by Thor Ernstsson, CEO & Founder of Alpha, the on-demand user insights platform enabling product teams to make data-driven decisions. Panelists include:

Alanna Ford, Innovation Product Manager at AARP. Alanna heads up the vertical of new products focused on wellbeing at The Hatchery, AARP’s innovation lab. In that role, she’s currently leading Confetti, a tech startup transforming how we celebrate milestones with the people who matter most.

Vivek Bedi, Head of Product at LearnVest and Head of Consumer Experience Products at Northwestern Mutual. Before that, Bedi was SVP of Digital Product and Platform for Sterling Solutions, a provider of background-screening services, and SVP of Digital Consumer Communications Products at Goldman Sachs.

Brent Tworetzky, Senior Vice President of Product at InVision, the digital product design platform powering the world’s best user experiences. Previously, Brent served as EVP Product at XO Group (NYSE:XOXO; parent of The Knot), VP of Product Management at Udacity, a pioneer in online career education and economic empowerment, and as a product and business leader for higher education startup Chegg.
