Class: Level II Stand-Up Comedy Class

Location: Class will take place in Studio 22 located behind Prosperity Brewers in Boca Raton. The address is 4160 NW 1st Ave #22, Boca Raton, FL 33431. Parking is located nextdoor at Flamingo House and on the grass berm in front. You will park and walk around to the back.

Description: This is the level II stand-up comedy class for students that have already taken the Comic Cure Introduction to Stand-Up Comedy Class. In this workshop each student will have the opportunity to perform their material and have instant feedback from our professional instructor, comedy booking director, and peers. Advanced performance and writing techniques will be taught as well as business tips on how to get yourself paid work and become a professional comedian. By the end of this class you will have a solid 10 minute set with demo video to help you gain work as an opening act. This class will show you what different bookers are looking for and how to navigate the booking process. It’s show BUSINESS – we will make you more marketable to the venues where you want to perform.

Homework: Please email a video and text version of your 5 minute set. Please also email any new material you are working on in text format.

Please bring a notepad and writing instrument. Any food or beverage you'd like to bring as well.

Richy Leis Comedy Comedian Black and White Portrait

Richy Leis has been producing and performing in comedy shows for 18 years. Richy is the Creative Director for Comic Cure producing shows in the Los Angeles area with some of the best names in comedy such as Dana Carvey (SNL), Craig Robinson (The Office), Whitney Cummings (Chelsea Lately), David Koechner (Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy) and many more. His résumé includes booking 50 comedy shows per week with 12,000 talent spots per year for one of the biggest comedy clubs in the Los Angeles area. His notable work is starting the Burbank Comedy Festival (www.burbankcomedyfestival.com) in Burbank, CA. Now in its 5th year, the Burbank Comedy Festival spans an entire week featuring celebrity comedy shows, podcasts, classes, workshops, after parties, and industry panels, networking comedians of all levels directly with the top agents, reps, managers and club, college and TV bookers, showcasing more than 300 comedians.

Richy hosted the pilot taping of Dana Carvey’s First Impressions TV show on the USA Network. Richy has appeared on Lifetime’s Little Women:LA, Regular Skype caller on TMZ Live, Jamie Kaler Power Hour-Blue Collar Channel on Sirius/Xm, MTV’s Is She Really Going Out With Him, VH1’s Basketball Wives.


Benjamin Leis Comic Cure

Benjamin Leis, is the co-founder and managing director of Comic Cure. Since September 2015, Comic Cure has booked and produced more than 200 events with more than 2,000 comedians (including breaking the Guinness Book of Records’ record for most comedians on a single show). Comic Cure clients include Miami-Dade County, Miami-Dade College, University of Miami, Red Bull, Mizner Park Cultural Center, WeWork, Hyatt Place, Gilda’s Club South Florida, Firefighter Cancer Support Network, and many more. Benjamin teaches the business side of comedy, providing an in-depth knowledge of how to become a professional comedian.
