Tis’ The Season!
The Harvest is gathered and the season of letting go begins. Autumn comes quickly often bringing feelings of sadness, loss and grief. Things in nature start to die off that were not picked as the fruits of our labor. The days shorten, darken and become cooler. In some ways, we feel relieved as Yang turns toward Yin and we begin to draw our energy within. And, at times we feel overwhelmed or unsettled as the energy shifts and contracts.
The Veils Thin!
Memories float like clouds passing by in the sky. As our mind recalls those we have lost or perhaps images of happier times, we feel a gentle tug on our heart strings. Our tears sing. We can try to push the rising waves back under or we can embrace them and all they bring. As Rumi says in his famous poem, The Guesthouse, “Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.”
Whether it be the memory of a loved one or a time past or a feeling that washes over us, what arises in our consciousness is a key to who we are and where we need to focus our time and energy. Pain, so often, rejected, comes as a friend. As one who reminds us perhaps that we need to rest more, get some exercise or eat healthier foods. Or maybe, we need to go within! Take the time to shed some tears, to mourn those we have lost or even more so honor the experiences and pain of our own past.
•Do you fully accept yourself for who you are today?
•Have you honored the path you have walked to become this being?
•What regrets and longings are you holding onto that it is time to let go of?
•Is there someone you have lost that you need to honor or mourn for in a deeper way?
•What part of yourself might you have left behind to make life “okay”?
•Is it time to reconnect with and honor a part of yourself to move into greater alignment and wholeness?
Autumn is a time when the rhythms of nature support us in this work.
Are you willing to move within, into the darkness, and to ask the difficult questions that your soul is seeking answer to at this time?
Calling upon our ancestors for guidance, wisdom and insight is an ancient tradition. As the veils become thinnest in late October, we have an opportunity to connect with them, to honor them and to ask for support. It is also a powerful time to connect more deeply with our own essence.
Join me on Saturday, October 29th for “Letting Go, Embodying Life: Honoring Our Ancestors & Ourselves - A Shamanic Journey Workshop.
Through Council/Talking Circle Explorations, Shamanic Journeywork, and Ceremony & Ritual, we will take time to connect with the energy of Autumn, to look within, and to honor our ancestors and ourselves so that we may walk in greater beauty and harmony fully embodying life today!
In this experiential workshop, we will:
• Connect and harmonize with the energy of Autumn to learn how we can create greater alignment and balance in our lives and our relationships
• Reflect on our most recent season of growth and celebrate our “Harvest”
• Uncover feelings, patterns and beliefs, which are no longer serving us and that we are ready to let go of through self-reflection, shamanic journeywork and journaling
•Journey to our Ancestral Spirits for guidance and let go of ancestral patterns that are ready to be released
•Participate in a Fire Ceremony to let go of all that’s ready to be released; and to honor and integrate the sacred soul work we are doing together
•Share our Visions and Gratitudes in community so that we can support and honor them for one another.
