Description
Dewdrops on a blade of grass,
Having so little time
Before the sun rises;
Let not the autumn wind
Blow so quickly on the field. —Dogen Zenji
What better time than now to make peace with impermanence and find freedom in things as they are? Join Karen Maezen Miller and the Dewdrop Sangha in a traditional Zen meditation retreat for all levels of practitioners. Experience the healing presence of just sitting or walking in meditation, chanting, Dharma talks and private encounters with a teacher. Special attention and support will be given to beginners. Three nights, all meals included.
Our hosts are the Sisters of the Transfiguration, an Episcopal order that welcomes the world to their lovingly tended convent grounds in the spirit of deep kindness, simplicity and joy.
Overnight rooms include single rooms and a limited number of double occupancy rooms. Double rooms must be reserved for both guests simultaneously. Some rooms have private baths. The retreat is also open to full-time participation by commuters.
Please bring your own zafu or sitting bench along with a zabuton or folded blanket to place under you while you sit. Chairs are provided. Wear dark, loose-fitting clothing (shirts and long pants) suitable for sitting on the floor and easy on-and-off shoes.
