Join us for Let's Talk Food a panel discussion among Edmonton-area mayors, featuring Mayor Don Iveson, and more!
This is the opening event for Cultivating Connections 2017: Alberta Regional Food Systems Forum, Feb.3-5, and kicks-off a weekend of workshops, speakers and open space discussion celebrating the work people are doing across Alberta towards improving local and regional food systems.
Hosted by the Edmonton Food Council, FLedGE, Alberta Food Matters, and the City of Edmonton.
This is a free, public event. All are welcome!
We hope that this event will elevate the conversation about the sustainability of our region as a prosperous, resilient, growing place, and local and regional food systems. This will be an important opportunity to engage in a meaningful dialogue about regionalism, growth, land-use, and preservation of land for agriculture and food systems. We look forward to this opportunity to “cultivate connections”between our communities!
As part of the celebration, the Edmonton Food Council has paired five local chefs with five local food producers. Taste Alberta is sponsoring ingredients for the chefs, who will present dishes using those local ingredients. Samples from local breweries will also be available for participants to try.

Some examples include: How can our region thrive as a prosperous, growing place, with resilient local and regional food systems? How do we preserve land for agriculture and food systems as our region grows and changes? How can we better “cultivate connections” between our communities?
