Cheese 101: Bloomy rinds, cooked curds, and buttery blues - cheesemonger Robert Aguilera will discuss the basics of cheese. What are the different types of cheese and how are they made? What role does aging play in the process? How do centuries-old European cheeses compare with their newer American counterparts? Come discuss these questions and more with cheese industry insider Aguilera. (45 minutes)

Class: Getting to Know Gruyere - 2:00pm
Culture’s editor-in-chief Courtney Hollands and Laure Rousseau from Le Gruyere will guide participants through a class showcasing the production and different ages of Gruyere AOP. We’ll taste and talk about the texture and flavors inherent in Gruyere at different points in the aging process, and discuss the history and process of making this storied cheese. (45 minutes)

Class: Cheeses of New England - 3:00pm
Vermont Creamery founder Alison Hooper and Vermont Cheese Council director Tom Bivins are your guides for an exploration of New England’s cheese landscape. Join them as they discuss both the history and the new agricultural traditions being forged in our region. We’ll discuss and sample the flavors of New England as expressed through cheese. (45 minutes)

Class: Pairing Wine and Cheese - 4:00pm
Have a favorite wine but at a loss for what type of cheese to pair? Or heading to a cheese tasting and need to pick just the right bottle to bring? Jonathan Alsop of the Boston Wine School will help demystify the art and science of wine and cheese pairings. (45 minutes)

Normally, you'd need your passport to taste cuisine from the number of countries represented at this year's Let's Talk About Cheese event.

At the first-ever Let's Talk About Cheese, you'll taste a variety of cheeses from every corner of the globe. Sample Gruyère from Switzerland, Grana Padana from Italy,Camembert from France, clothbound cheddar from England, and sheep's milk cheese from northern New York. Try all these and more while learning about what makes each of them distinctive and delicious.

Plus, you'll also get to enjoy beer, wine, and cider, as well as crackers, jams, charcuterie, and more while mingling with cheese mongers and makers.

Want to learn even more about your favorite cheeses? Attend one of the day's classes. Led by experts, the classes cover a range of cheese-focused topics, like "Old vs. New World Cheese," "Cheese 101," "Vertical Sampling of Gruyère," and more. Classes will fill up quickly. Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

There is no age requirements but ID will be checked at the door as beer and wine are being served. Please bring a government issued form of identification.  

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Please bring your printed ticket or your ticket on your mobile phone.  

What is the refund policy?

All sales final. No refunds.
