About this event

This virtual community conversation will take place on Thursday, September 10, 2020 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM in partnership with various faith-based, academic, and community organizations, the Office of the Governor, and the Departments of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS), and Children and Families (DCF).

The purpose of this event is to engage in dialogue on equity, develop recommendations for local and larger systems improvements, and to build and bridge community alliances. The agenda for the evening includes brief remarks by the Office of the Governor, and Commissioners from the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) and the Department of Children and Families. Our Conversation Starter is Dr. Wizdom Powell (Director at the UConn Health Disparities Institute), drumming by Leonard Epps (Teacher and Administrator at Hartford Public Schools). Small Zoom breakout conversations will be facilitated by community members, faith-based leaders, and DMHAS staff. Highlights and recommendations from the discussion will be gathered and shared with municipalities, organizations, and other entities.

A Zoom link will be sent to the registered email on file prior to the event. The deadline for registration is Tuesday, September 8th at noon. We look forward to having a productive dialogue!
