About this Event

Let's Make Lemonade! On June 20, 2019, thought leader and clinical therapist, Vanessa Jackson, LMSW, will lead a community discussion about how trauma impacts decision making for youth and what parents and caring adults can do to support youth in addressing issues around mental health and trauma. With over a decade of experience in helping individuals overcoming traumatic experiences; Vanessa has a significant amount of clinical experience working with individuals battling depression, anxiety and adjustment disorders. She’s highly regarded for her efforts in addressing specialty clinical areas to include crisis intervention, trauma focused sensory intervention, juvenile risk assessment and family skill building. Moreover, Vanessa is known for creating environments that cultivate a nonjudgmental rapport and encourage progress towards desired treatment and community outcomes.

These live and interactive conversations will highlight prominent community leaders and experts in Detroit by allowing them to co-learn and facilitate community dialogues with Teens. Topics focus on barriers that teenagers in Detroit face everyday and empower teens with the tools to make healthy decisions for the life they want.

Space is limited. RSVP TODAY.
