Let's Make a Purse

In this class you will make a shoulder bag with zipper top, inside pocket, outside pocket, and a long shoulder strap, using ½ yard of handwoven (or commerical) fabric, plus fabric for lining and shoulder strap. You will learn about purse "engineering," stiffeners/interfacings, linings, an easy way to put a zipper in a purse, and various ways to make handles and straps.
Skills needed: some machine sewing experience (beginner+)
- Fabric (½ yard of several fabrics to choose from for purse body, lining, pockets and strap)
- Zipper (purchased after fabric is chosen in first session)
- Good scissors, pins, seam gauge (if you have one)
- Sewing machine (or use Guild sewing machine)
Interfacing will be provided by the instructor.
Your registration fee will be refunded only if the class is canceled or changed to a different day. Three participants are needed for a class to be held.
