Let’s Get Social! Hands-On Intensive Social Media Marketing for Librarians (one-day workshop for library and literacy staff and volunteers)
Do you find yourself struggling to come up with good content to post on your library websites, Facebook pages, or other social media apps? Have you considered leveraging additional social media outlets to connect with your customers, but found yourself afraid of the learning curve to implement them? If so, this hands-on training is for you!
In this intensive workshop, you will learn keys to success on social media marketing from branding and strategy to comprehensive web and social planning. We will discuss types of content that do well in library and literacy worlds. Learn to design shortcuts that will make you look like a graphic design pro to help reach the right audience. Inform and engage your customers with well-designed and interesting website content. As this class is designed as a hands-on workshop, you will be working along with the instructor with your own smartphone and/or tablet, and will leave with the confidence you need to run your accounts. Get a clear understanding of the direction you want to take on social media. Bring your questions and let's get social!
Apps we'll use during class: Facebook, Facebook Pages Manager, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Snapchat, Over, PicFrame, and Boomerang. Attendees will be using their existing or newly-created accounts for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and Tumblr.
Class Prerequisites: 1) Bring Your Own Device (smartphone and/or tablet) with apps downloaded and accounts set up for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and Tumblr. Attendees do not have to know or do anything with these except know username and password. 2) Bring Your Own Device (smartphone and/or tablet) with apps downloaded for Facebook Pages Manager, Over, PicFrame, and Boomerang, if you want hands-on training with them.
