Event description

Description

What is so important about relationships? Why do we want to find love? Find best friends? How do we manage relationships with our clients?

Sue Johnson, the founder of Emotionally Focused Therapy, often says that we are hardwired for connection. Each of us needs to feel like at least one person has our back. When we have that sense of feeling valued and safe, we are better able to competent and content people in the world. When we don't have it, we can struggle navigating our day-to-day lives. This workshop is about the importance of connecting to ourselves and others as well as the importance of the security of our primary relationships. We will also look at the importance of connecting to our clients and what happens when that connection is damaged.

Cara Quinn is certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), a therapy specifically for couples. She is also a supervisor in training for EFT. Cara is passionate about working with couples to heal and improve connection. She leads events related to teaching about EFT and runs a couples therapy consulatation group for other practitioner. In addition to her couples work, Cara is a Certified Core Energetics Practitioner (CCEP), is level 2 trained in Internal Family Systems, and is training in Intimacy from the Inside Out (IFIO) - an IFS couples therapy model. She is a lifelong lover of learning and growing.
