About this event

We welcome you back to our in person event for 2022! Join the University of Minnesota Master Gardeners of Dakota County our annual spring expo.

Let’s Get Growing is an expo for home gardeners of all skill levels looking to learn more and have a fun time! Don’t miss:

  • Morning refreshments and lunch included

  • Garden marketplace

  • Chance to win prizes and more!  

In addition to our Keynote Speaker, Minnesota native and Extension educator, Julie Weisenhorn, this year's speakers will present on exciting and timely topics such as:

Health & Safety

The health and safety of our Let’s Get Growing volunteers and attendees is very important to us. Let’s Get Growing will require proof of vaccination to attend. Please plan on presenting your vaccine card or a picture of both sides to enter the event. Masks will also be required by all volunteers, speakers, and attendees, except while eating or drinking. Speakers may remove their masks while presenting if they prefer. We will be following all CDC, Minnesota Health Department, and any local guidelines at the time of the event.

Organizer Dakota County Master Gardeners

Organizer of Let's Get Growing 2022

The University of Minnesota Extension has 130 trained Master Gardeners in Dakota County who volunteer thousands of hours to the community each year. The mission is to educate and assist the public by answering and solving problems about horticulture and related environmental topics.

Priorities of the Master Gardener Program are:

1) Horticultural Skills, 2) Local Foods, 3) Climate Change, 4) Nearby Nature, 5) Clean Water, 6) Pollinators, 7) Plant Diversity.

What we do:

Extension Master Gardeners use up-to-date University information to provide education and horticulture resources to 1) Teach classes to youth and adults, 2) Speak to groups, 3) Participate in community events and projects, 4) Write articles, 5) Conduct research, 6) Answer gardening questions online and by phone, and 7) Partner with other state and county organizations.
