Description

Reinvigorate your writing using art as your muse. Participants will engage in visual analysis of artworks, uncovering personal connections to the pieces and responding in poetry or prose. Enrich your craft through the art of close observation, and come away with fresh ideas for new works of your own.

About the Instructor: Tara Campbell (www.taracampbell.com) is a fiction editor at Barrelhouse and an MFA candidate at American University. Prior publication credits include SmokeLong Quarterly, Masters Review, b(OINK), Booth, Spelk, Jellyfish Review, Strange Horizons, and Queen Mob's Teahouse. Her debut novel, TreeVolution, was published in 2016, and her collection, Circe's Bicycle, was released in spring 2018. She teaches at American University, the Writer's Center, and the National Gallery of Art.
