Event description

Description

Collage Artists have always been the 'bad boys and girls of Art.'

Collage has so many possibilities and is a great way to create amazing compositions, play around and experiment before you stick an image down. Collages can be figurative or abstract and it is a perfect method of image making to use in a creative visual journal or to make pieces of art to frame. Collage has been used as a political tool and has a reputation for being subversive but it can also be used to be plain beautiful, think Matisse's 'cut outs.' Haven't got a creative bone in your body? Afraid to paint and draw? This workshop will dispell all that.

We will discover collage techniques, collect together and compose images from magazines and discarded ephemera and combine with patterned papers and paint to create striking images that can be humorous and cheeky or serious and moody - it's all up to you.

All materials are included but feel free

Bring along and donate an old 'FRANKIE' Magazine to the pile (no pages missing) and get 50 cents refund on the spot (limit of 20 magazines per attendee) Sorry no other magazines ONLY Frankie.
