Join Big Red READS for a FREE workshop with noted author and educator, Lester Laminack. This workshop ifs open to ALL local educators.

Lester L. Laminack is Professor Emeritus at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina. His academic publications include several books including Learning Under the Influence of Language and Literature (Heinemann) Reading Aloud Across the Curriculum (Heinemann, Cracking Open the Author’s Craft (Scholastic) and Unwrapping the Read Aloud (Scholastic) and his most recent publication, Reading to Make a Difference: Using Literature to Help Students Speak Freely, Think Deeply, and Take Action (Heinemann)

Lester is also the author of seven children’s books: The Sunsets of Miss Olivia Wiggins, Trevor’s Wiggly-Wobbly Tooth, Saturdays and Tea Cakes, Jake’s 100th Day of School, Snow Day!, Three Hens and a Peacock, and most recently, The King of Bees.

Workshop 1 is entitled Reading Aloud Across the Curriculum and will explore the power and importance of using Interactive Read Aloud in all content areas.
