Description

Lessons Learned from Family Businesses

By Leslie Dashew & Donnel Nunes

In this program, Leslie and Donnel will share lessons from family businesses that succeed and those that failed over the generations by following the themes of this year (family, loyalty, generosity, sensitivity to others, and reward for working hard). Bring your lunch and learn:

  • When does honoring family and loyalty put the business at risk?

  • When does the sensitivity to others add value and when does it hurt the family or business?

  • How to optimize loyalty without minimizing best practices

Leslie Dashew has specialized in working with families in business for over 30 years. She brings her prior experience in family therapy and organizational development to this work. Her focus is helping families to gain clarity about their vision for the future and to develop comprehensive, integrated plans to achieve those goals. She helps clients gain harmony in the family and prosperity in their businesses.

As a pioneer in the field of family business consulting, Leslie was a founder of the Aspen Family Business Group and the author of 4 books in the field. She has worked with her colleagues to develop leading-edge tools and knowledge that help families in business all over the world. She serves as a mentor to other professionals and speaks to professional and business organizations around the globe. Her contributions to the field have been recognized by the Family Firm Institute with their highest accolades, the Richard Beckhard Award.

Donnel Nunes is a behavior and learning specialist who brings more than 15 years of experience to his work with individuals and organizations.
