Learn from the experiences of three emerging AI startups on how they are using AI to scale faster and the opportunities they see in the market.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming an ubiquitous reality and will profoundly change the way we work, live and learn. Countries like China and Singapore are investing heavily into becoming AI hubs to spur new economic growth while Malaysia will be launching a national AI framework to outline initiatives.

Jonathan Weins | CEO & Co-founder, dahmakan
After heading business development and co-founding foodpanda in Hong Kong, started dahmakan the food production and delivery company that is also building machine learning capabilities to forecast sales and optimise operations. First Malaysian-based startup to be accepted to join Y Combinator.

Dr Helmi Zakariah | Director, AIME
Oversees AIME, an epidemiology research company that uses AI to improve prediction and management of outbreaks such as dengue. Formerly with the Ministry of Health in Malaysia where he co-founded the Global Health Division that spearheads international partnerships. Started his career as a doctor in Seremban General Hospital.

Vic Sithasanan | CEO & Co-founder, HYPERLAB
Responsible for product development and R&D at HYPERLAB, a developer of AI to automate sales, customer support and analytics. Has worked with global companies such as Johnson & Johnson, Virgin Internet and BBDO/Proximity. Also co-founded FutureLab which was subsequently acquired by APD, a listed company in Australia.
