Less Intense Study Session: Wednesday

This session is designed to hone our knowledge in preparation for Cicerone's 'Certified' or Second Level of Certification. We'll focus1 hour each week on tasting beers blind, either for off-flavor considerations or consumer or industry focused descriptions. We'll concentrate on off-flavors that are expected at this level: acetaldehyde, diacetyl, trans-2-nonenal, skunky, dms, acetic with weekly spikes and discussions.
The remainer of the time will be spent discussing beer styles and working through different required readings, potential essay questions, and previously (published) practice exams, with discussion. We'll spend some time on Draft Systems as well as Beer & Food Pairings.
