About this event
One of New York City's historic chapels is transformed into an elegant salon for a special evening of intimate chamber music, dance performance and art exhibit to celebrate December 11th - The International Day of Tango and Nuevo Tango ARTS.
This Gala celebrates our mission of unity through the arts and is a unique opportunity to connect with artists and community members. The program will showcase works in progress by the musicians of PIAZZOLLA 100 and Nuevo Tango Ballet, artwork by the children of "Paint the Music" workshops. Wine bar, meet the artists and more!
Featured artists include Artistic Director, Leonardo Suarez Paz, award-winning guitarist Greg Skaff and members of Nuevo Tango Ballet - Olga Suarez Paz, Francesca Antonacci, Mathilde Guerrero and Brianna Rivera.
COVID-19 Protocol: Proof of vaccination and ID are required to attend for everyone over the age of 12. Temperature checks will be conducted at the door. Masks are required during the showcase portion. ,

Featured artist, Greg Skaff will perform "Histoire du Tango," playing violin and guitar duo with Leonardo Suarez Paz, as part of our works in progress for a multidisciplinary production of the same title.
Greg Skaff has earned a reputation as one of the guitarists in modern jazz. His credits include a five-year tenure in sax titan Stanley Turrentine’s band, masters such as Ruth Brown, Freddie Hubbard, David “Fathead” Newman, Gloria Lynne, Bobby Watson, Ben Allison, Bruce Barth, Orrin Evans, Joe Farnsworth, David Hazeltine, Victor Lewis, Ralph Peterson Jr., Jim Rotondi, and E. J. Strickland.
Skaff fronts a trio featuring jazz icons Ron Carter and Albert “Tootie” Heath in Polaris (SMK Jazz), his latest album. He has appeared at Blue Note, Birdland, Smalls, Mezzrow, Iridium, Zinc Bar, and Minton’s Playhouse to Italy’s Umbria Jazz Festival.
