Event description

Description

We are excited and honored to welcome Simona Bertocchi, visiting from Torino, for a unique evening of literature, art and culture.
Bertocchi, a published writer and a high school classmate of Roberta's, will talk about the world of the genius Leonardo da Vinci and the Rinascimento (the Italian Renaissance).

During this workshop, we will enter into the mindset of Leonardo as we delve into Simona Bertocchi's latest novel, "I pasticci di Leonardo".
Bertocchi attempts to tackle an ignored aspect of Leonardo da Vinci, his passion for cooking, and his revolutionary thinking.
The book serves as an intimate diary in which Leonardo reveals his fragility and his voracious curiosity that links art with science through gastronomy, history and art.
In Bertocchi's novel, Leonardo is a man who recounts his amazing life in a sensory journey through food and alchemy; in this way he conveys a taste, a smell, and a consistency to the most important periods of his life.
With Simona we will gain knowledge about the Italian Renaissance through the lens of Leonardo da Vinci's revolutionary mindset.

At the beginning of the workshop "Una Merenda" will be served along with some Italian treats that Simona Bertocchi will bring for us directly from Italy.

At the end of the workshop a signed copy of Simona's book will be distributed to all participants.

Space is limited - to secure your spot, please sign up for the workshop here.
