About Leigh Bardugo:

Leigh Bardugo is a #1 New York Times bestselling author of fantasy novels and short stories. She is also a graduate of Yale herself and was a member of a secret society there. In Ninth House Bardugo balances her imaginative world-building with the authenticity of the Yale college experience, which she knows firsthand. She was born in Jerusalem and grew up in Los Angeles, where she currently lives and writes.

About Ninth House:

Ninth House allows a glimpse into an elite Ivy League world, through the eyes of an unforgettable outsider protagonist, Galaxy “Alex” Stern. A high-school dropout from LA who has run out of bad choices, Alex is the last person anyone would expect to become an Ivy League freshman. But after the most catastrophic of choices almost gets her killed, she awakes in a hospital to a proposition: a full ride to Yale University – on the condition that she monitor the occult activities of the school’s infamous secret societies. It’s an offer that’s too good to be true, but it’s also Alex’s only chance at a new life. Once she arrives in New Haven and enters the “tombs” of societies like Skull & Bones, Alex finds she is being haunted by more than just her past mistakes. From here Bardugo spins a mesmerizing tale that has already drawn praise from writers as various as Joe Hill, Charlaine Harris, Kelly Link, and Lev Grossman.
