Description

The NHS Five Year Forward View and local plans highlight the importance of involving patients, citizens and communities directly about decisions on health and care services.

This event is for patients, carers and the public aims to inform, inspire, motivate and support your involvement in healthcare services across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

You may already be actively involved, thinking about getting involved or this may all be new to you. If you are interested in making a difference to your local health and care services you are welcome to attend.

Workshops will be run by patients and staff. You can choose up to three out of the following

  • Patient Participation Groups (PPGs)
  • Patient Public Involvement with the National Patient Association
  • Patient Public Involvement with the NHS Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland Alliance
  • Patient Public Involvement in NHS research
  • Involving Black, Asian, Minority and Ethnic (BAME) Communities in NHS Research
  • Empowering Patient Involvement

Getting to the venue

By Car - Leicester Racecourse is easily accessible from the Midlands Motorway Network. As you come off at Junction 21 of the M1/M69 head eastbound on Soar Valley Way (A563) towards Oadby and Wigston. Follow Soar Valley Way until you reach the A6 and at that point the Racecourse will be on your right hand side.

By Train - Only 2 miles from Leicester Train Station. When you exit the train station head southbound on the A6 (London Road) towards Oadby. You can either walk the 2 miles, get in a taxi from the taxi rank located inside the train station or catch a bus.

By Bus -
The most direct bus to the Racecourse is the Arriva Sapphire 31 and 31A. If you are coming from Leicester City Centre the stop you need to get off at is the Oadby Glebe Road bus stop which is across the road from the Racecourse. If you are coming from Oadby you need the Oadby Meadowcourt Road bus stop. For full listings of the bus times and the entire bus route please click here.

If there are a group of people travelling from outside of the Leicester, Leicester and Rutland area, we may be able to hire a mini bus. Please contact us asap if interested.

Reasonable travel costs will be reimbursed. Forms will be available for completion on the day.
