Description

Starting October 11, 2017, through December 13, 2017

This is a unique lesson plan that takes us into outer space. Constructing and then programming futuristic robot models is a great introduction to physics and astronomy. To further spark young imaginations, some robots resemble those seen in science fiction movies. This program was created to enhance students' curiosity and science skills, building Lego robotics models of different star wars inspired astronomical space stations and more.We use working motors, gears, cams and sensors before programming with the intuitive WeDo robotics software to bring them to life.

Here the key learning values for them:

1. Introduce the theory behind working with simple machines using gears, levers, pulleys, and transmission of motion.

2. Developing scientific inquiry skills. Develop students’ core skills in communication, team building and problem-solving.

3. Understanding the basics concepts of astronomy and physics

4. Collecting data and describing outcomes.

5. Understanding of basic science concepts related to robotics

6. Build skills in science, engineering, and technology

7. Explore the outer space, planets, and astronomy.
