Legal Workshop with Perkins Coie: Equity & Hiring for Startups

Steve Ducommun of Perkins Coie will lead this workshop on equity and hiring for startups. We'll discuss how companies issue stock, including founders equity, and discuss vesting agreements and incentive stock options. Then we'll cover corporate governance structures and how consultants and stockholders fit into the picture. Finally, we'll summarize the basics of labor and employment law, including employment contracts, confidentiality agreements, consulting and advisory agreements, and employee compensation. Lunch will be served.

About the presenter:
Steve Ducommun is a partner with the Perkins Coie's Corporate practice. He concentrates his practice in corporate and securities law with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances, commercial contracting and financings. He regularly represents and consels companies in a number of industries, including health care, biotechnology, food and procurement, cleantech, pharmaceutical, medical devices, agribusiness, metals and information technology.
