Legal Seminar - Non-Married Property Ownership in Texas
Event Information
Description
Non-Married Property Ownership in Texas:
Protecting Your Partner and Your Assets
Gay or straight, doesn’t matter. Two non-married persons purchasing property together in TX need to know a few things about owning that love shack; co-ownership does not necessarily convey the same rights as with a married couple. If one partner dies without the proper legal documents in place, the surviving partner may now own half of the property with the heirs. Many of these rights should be specifically created at the time of purchase of the home or shortly thereafter with appropriate legal documents such as a will.
Featuring: Tracy Kasparek, Attorney At Law
Panelists & sponsors include: Julie Nelson (The Nelson Project at Keller Williams Realty), Jan Hill (United Lending), Ed Ishmael (Midtown Independence Title), Lisa Thomas (Financial Advisor), and Jeff Lutes (MS, LPC, Psychotherapist).
